H Scientific Inc was established in Maryland, USA, in 2005 with the express purpose of promoting and supporting H Scientific Ltd's products and technology in North and South America. H Scientific Ltd are a U.K. based company with a proven track record for excellence and innovation in the simulation and autopilot fields. H Scientific, Inc. focuses on the development of markets for the broad range of technology and innovative solutions for the marine, submarine and airborne industries.

Our main areas of expertize are in the fields of dynamic simulation, autopilot technology and navigational instrumentation. Based on these core technology areas, we have developed a range of products including:

  • Autopilot and Controller technology: Remote control and monitoring solutions for autonomous vehicles - sub-surface (AUV/ROV/UUV/WROV), surface and airborne (including airship), generic autopilot board, autopilot algorithms, autopilot development systems.
  • Dynamic simulation: Ship simulation, AUV/ROV simulation, Airship simulation
  • Naval and Marine training systems: supplied to UK Royal Navy, including Helmsman trainer, Radio communications trainer, Blind pilotage trainer.
  • Autopilot test systems: Simulation of ship's behavior under autopilot control, including ISO16329, 11674 and IEC 62065 models for accreditation of autopilot systems.
  • Navigational instruments and instrumentation solutions: including Gyrostabilized camera, Analog/Digital I/O USB unit, Datalogger, Flight Termination System, Dual Redundant Power Control System, 3 axis rate gyro board, Telemetry systems.

Our principal activities include the development of innovative technology for marine and submarine fields; we apply this technology to provide our clients with solutions, ranging from installing simulation-based training systems to developing and installing the autopilot controller 'brain' of an autonomous vehicle and carrying out sea trials.

Dynamic simulation has formed the basis for the development of advanced techniques for navigation and position control. A suite of self-tuning autopilots have been developed and trialled at sea on a range of vehicles. A dedicated autopilot board has been developed and used for remote control of surface and subsurface ROVs and AUVs/UUVs. This offers heading, speed, depth/height and attitude control, together with dynamic positioning / hovering. The core self-tuning heading autopilot has been licensed to a major autopilot manufacturer for the leisure marine market.

H Scientific has become one of the leaders in the field of ship simulation in support of the development, testing and accreditation of the ship control systems with the world's only off-the-shelf marine simulator supporting the ISO11674, ISO16329 and IEC62065 standards for heading and track control systems. H Scientific authored the IEC62065 mathematical model.
